Four Chukars Score in Double Figures, Men’s Basketball Goes to 3-1
[Ontario, OR] - Led by their defense, the Treasure Valley Men's Basketball team earned another victory at home on Friday night, as they took down the Pierce Raiders 97-65. The Chukars were able to score 14 unanswered points, until Pierce broke the shutout with a bucket nearly four minutes into the game. Shortly after, Jeremiah Williams made a statement with a one-handed slam over two Pierce defenders. The Chukars went into halftime with a 48-30 lead, getting 12 points from Kirath Makhar on 4-6 shooting.
Coming out of intermission with the lead, the Chukars put up another offensive clinic, posting 49 more points in the second half. Jacob Martinez led the way scoring in the second half, scoring 15 of his game-high 19 points. Makhar posted 17 total points, freshmen Deacon Kiesbuy and Gabe Britton each added 16 points for TVCC. Britton also grabbed a game-high nine rebounds. Treasure Valley forced the Raiders into 33 turnovers, 20 of those being steals for the Chukars.
Hitting the road for the first time this season, Treasure Valley's next opponent will be a back-to-back battle with NJCAA member Utah State University Eastern in Price, UT on November 30th and December 1st. Both games will tip off at 7:00pm MST.
