Treasure Valley Battles Through Tough Series, Looks Ahead to Yakima Valley

Treasure Valley Community College faced a challenging stretch against Spokane, dropping four games in a hard-fought series that featured close finishes, extra innings, and flashes of strong individual performances. Despite the results, the Chukars showed resilience, offensive potential, and moments of standout play that signal promise moving forward.

The series opened with one of Treasure Valley's most competitive efforts, a narrow 5–4 loss in which the Chukars outhit Spokane 10–4. Colt Durham led the way with an impressive four-hit performance and an RBI, while Brayden Ollar added two hits and two RBIs. On the mound, Grayson Paul delivered a strong start, striking out seven over six innings and allowing just one earned run. Defensive miscues proved costly, however, as four errors helped Spokane edge ahead late.

Treasure Valley ran into a tougher outing in a 16–2 loss, where Spokane capitalized early. Cam Ueland highlighted the offense with a double, while Durham contributed an RBI and showcased his speed with two stolen bases. The Chukars showed patience at the plate with five walks but struggled to convert opportunities into runs.

The most dramatic game of the series came in an 11-inning battle, where Treasure Valley fell just short, 9–8. Ollar again played a key role, scoring three times and driving in a run, including a clutch game-tying RBI in the eighth inning. Bryson Oswald added two RBIs, and Ueland chipped in with two hits as the offense rallied late. Hunter Christensen contributed with two runs scored and a stolen base, helping keep pressure on Spokane throughout. Despite the comeback effort, Spokane ultimately secured the win in extra innings.

In the series finale, Spokane's offense proved difficult to contain in a 12–4 result. Ueland made an early impact with an RBI single in the first inning and later scored, while Durham added two hits, a stolen base, and a run. Ollar and Oswald each contributed RBIs in different ways, continuing to find opportunities to produce. On the mound, Landyn Fullmer took the start, with defensive errors once again playing a significant role in the outcome, while Cooper Derbidge provided a bright spot in relief with two scoreless innings.

Across the series, Treasure Valley consistently showed the ability to generate offense and compete, even in difficult situations. Timely hitting, aggressive baserunning, and several strong individual performances stood out, while defensive consistency remains an area for growth.

The Chukars will look to build on those positives as they turn their attention to an upcoming four-game series against Yakima Valley Community College. The first two games will be played on the road in Yakima on Wednesday, with the final two games returning home to Ontario.

With lessons learned and momentum to build on, Treasure Valley heads into the week with a fresh opportunity to bounce back and turn close efforts into results.
