Chukar Volleyball Clinches East; Honors Superfan at Game
[Ontario, OR] - The TVCC Chukar volleyball team concluded their regular season on a high note with a victory in their final home game, an Eastern Region Conference Match, held at the John J Easly Gymnasium. In front of a large crowd enjoying free pizza and shirts, the Chukars secured a straight-set win with scores of 25-18, 25-19, and 25-20.
Katelyn Markley led the team with an impressive 18 kills, closely followed by Karly Clark with 15. Contributions also came from Rylee Miller with 5 kills and Kynnsington Bandley with 3. Orchestrating the offensive plays, Naomi Shipley provided 24 assists, while Dominixe Ceylaya added 15.
The match was not only a celebration of the team's success but also an opportunity to honor Bill, the team's dedicated superfan. The Chukars surprised him with a poster and a heartfelt message before the match, acknowledging his unwavering support for the team.
Not only does the win add to the dominance of the Chukars' season thus far, but the victory clinched the East Region Championship for TVCC. With one final regular season contest to be played at Yakima on November 7th, TVCC secured the East Region #1 seed for the Regional Round of the NWAC Volleyball Championship Tournament on November 15 and 16.
Reflecting on the victory, a team representative stated, "It was nice to end the season undefeated on our home court. That is a great feeling for the coaches and players." The win marked a fitting conclusion to the Chukars' regular season, leaving them poised for their next competitive challenges.
