Chukar Volleyball makes TVCC history!

This is the first time in 11 years that the Chukar Volleyball team has made it to the NWAC (Post Season) Tournament. It was 2008 when the Chukars made their last appearance at the NWAC Tournament. Assistant Coach Vanessa Paulsen was a member of that team in 2007 and 2008 and they qualified for the Tournament both years. While the loss of the last two Conference games was discouraging, the Chukars clinched a spot in the Playoff tournament with a record of (11-5) NWAC and (21-14) overall. The NWAC Championships will be in Tacoma, WA on November 20-24, 2019.

Six sophomores will be moving on after the season is over, Tessa McFetridge, Anela Navor, Jessica Whiteley, Julia Nartker, Samantha Fossati, and Elizabeth Bergmann. In 2 years, these 6 sophomores have lead the program to 49 wins (49-29); more wins in a 2 year span than in over 10 years recorded for the team.

Jessica Whiteley is the first player in program history to be awarded the AVCA Player of the Week. She was also recognized as the Adidas Player of the Week for the NWAC, 4 times as East Region Offensive Player of the Week, and once as East Region Defensive Player of the Week.

Anela Navor was recognized as the East Region Setter of the Week 6 times and once as the NWAC Setter of the Week in 2018 and 2019.

Samantha Fossati is recognized twice as the East Region Defensive Player of the Week in 2019.

"This 2019 team has set a foundation for the future of Chukar Volleyball, I am proud of what we have accomplished this year and we are looking forward to competing in the NWAC Tournament." stated Coach Erin Mellinger.
