Track and Field Shows Well in Portland

[Portland, OR] - Treasure Valley Community College Track and Field participated in the Larry Byerly Invite at Lewis & Clark University in Portland, Oregon, competing successfully against larger schools. The meet, held under favorable conditions with a large turnout, saw the team achieve numerous personal records and school records.

Omar Osman, Jose Torres, Claytin Harper, and Payton Travis set a new school record in the men's 4x100 relay. Brayden Lamanna delivered a standout performance, establishing school records in the men's 1500m and securing a 12-second personal record to finish first in the men's 5000m. Jessa Hunt achieved a personal record in the women's 1500m and an impressive 22-second improvement in the women's 5000m. Emma Barton also recorded a personal record in the women's 1500m, while Talon Morris did the same in the men's 1500m.
 
Additionally, Madeline Williams became the third-ranked athlete in the NWAC for the women's 100m hurdles. Ashten Moore qualified for the NWAC Championships in the women's 400m, and Leland Tamez set a new personal record in the men's 400m. Claytin Harper is now ranked eighth in the NWAC for the men's 100m. Demetrius Fuentes, Abby Nunez, Evelyn Ward, and Jacob Pett also achieved personal records in their respective events.
 
Coach Ryan Jaggi praised the team's performance, stating, "Super proud of our kids for not letting the size of the meet dictate how they raced. All our kids got in and RACED and great things happened. It was an awesome day for the Chuks."
 
Overall, Treasure Valley Community College Track and Field had an exceptional outing, marked by numerous personal and school records, demonstrating their competitive spirit and ability to excel in a challenging field.
