Wrestling Wins Final Home Dual of the Season
[Ontario, OR] - Treasure Valley Community College earned an impressive 30–25 dual victory over the University of Idaho, fueled by key performances throughout the lineup and the steady leadership of a strong sophomore class.
The evening began by honoring our outstanding sophomores: Ava Collins, Gracie Strickland, Cody Vance, Alik Sigrah, Niko Sigrah, Zakin Bolander, Owen Scott, Brandon Stowe, and Fahad Hillesland. Their dedication, toughness, and leadership continue to shape the standard of the Chukar wrestling program.
The dual opened at 157 pounds, where Jose Rexach set the tone with a commanding 13–4 major decision over Ryan Matysek. At 165, Ruben Casner added valuable team points with a forfeit, extending TVCC's early lead.
At 174, Efren Ybarra battled hard but fell 1–9 to Ridge Kehr. The 184-pound matchup featured sophomore Owen Scott, who faced a tough challenge in James Green and dropped the contest 2–18.
The momentum shifted again at 197, as sophomore Niko Sigrah delivered one of the night's most exciting bouts. In a back-and-forth battle, Sigrah edged Ryan Suplizio 12–11, securing critical points for TVCC. At 235, sophomore Alik Sigrah fought hard but came up short in a 5–8 decision against Paul Thompson.
In the heavyweight match, sophomore Cody Vance energized the crowd with a decisive pin over Fin Moon, swinging momentum back in TVCC's favor heading into intermission.
Following a 10-minute break, competition resumed at 125 pounds, where Dashawn Jenkins wasted no time, pinning Colson Johnston in dominant fashion. At 133, Danny Leming was pinned by Keven Martinez, and at 141, Isaiah Lemmon competed hard but fell 8–17 to Caleb Burbank.
With the dual on the line at 149 pounds, sophomore Fahad Hillesland delivered the finishing touch. In dramatic fashion, he pinned Nathaniel Vincler to secure the 30–25 team victory for Treasure Valley.
