Riley Helmick is entering her first year as Interim Head Women's Basketball Coach at Treasure Valley. She was the assistant coach for the Chukars during the 2019-2020 season.
Helmick was born and raised in Ontario, Oregon. She graduated from Ontario High School in 2015 where she played basketball and golf. She attended Treasure Valley Community College and played basketball for the Chukars for 2 years. During the 2016-2017 season, she broke the school record for made 3's in a season with 85. She is also the school record holder for made 3 pointers in a career at 143.
Upon graduating from Treasure Valley, Helmick attended Dickinson State University in Dickinson, North Dakota. She played basketball and golf for the Blue Hawks for two years. She helped the Blue Hawk Golf Team to a 2nd place finish at the Spring Conference Golf Tournament in Bellevue, Nebraska during the 2018-2019 season, where she placed 5th place individually. Helmick graduated from DSU with a Bachelor's of Exercise Science with an emphasis in Sports Management in 2019.
Helmick works as the Program Director for the Ontario Recreation District where she has been since July 2019. She is also the volunteer assistant coach for the Ontario High School boys and girls golf teams, where her dad, Scott, is the head coach. She is currently working on her Master of Arts in Teaching- Athletic Educational Leadership degree from Dickinson State University. In her spare time, Helmick enjoys doing projects around her house, golfing with her family, and spending time with her dogs.
Along with countless friends and family, Helmick would especially like to thank her parents- Scott and Jerrimi, and siblings- Scotti Jo, Charli, and Tyce for the support throughout the years of her playing career now turned coaching career.
