[Pasco, WA] - The Treasure Valley Community College Women's Basketball team picked up a road victory over the 2023-24 Eastern Region champion Columbia Basin College Hawks. Down 10 points after the first quarter, and down by as many as 15, the Chukars battled back and found themselves in a tie ball game with one quarter remaining. Thanks to some clutch baskets down the stretch, the Chukars picked up the first East Region victory of the season, beating the Hawks 67-65. Sophia Legate led TVCC with 17 points, also grabbing seven rebounds. Ava Cuff posted 15 points and five rebounds, and point guard Zoe Archibald scored 13 points, grabbed five rebounds, and issued four assists. Maggie Sharp put up nine points, grabbed seven rebounds, and dished out five assists.
The Chukars will defend the home court for three games in a row, welcoming the Big Bend Vikings on Saturday, January 11th at 2:00pm. Treasure Valley and Big Bend are both 1-0 in East Region.
