Women's Basketball Wins at Home over Blue Mountain

[Ontario, OR] - Treasure Valley women's basketball picked up a much needed win on Wednesday night against the visiting Timberwolves from Blue Mountain. After dropping their first two East Region games on the road last weekend, the Chukars got off to a hot start in Wednesday's contest. The Chuks were on the scoreboard first and never looked back. TVCC took a 46-24 lead into the halftime break. Blue Mountain continued to push and crawl back, but the Chukar momentum was too much for BMCC to overcome. The Chuks picked up the win, 84-65.

The Chukars were led by Mandy Belnap who recorded 20 points, Emma Clark who netted 18 points, McKell Parkinson who scored 15, and Maunayia Harrigfeld who put in 12 points of her own. Hannah Loveland had 9 points, Maddie Windley scored 5, and Booh Huddleston rounded out the lineup with 4 of her own.

The Chukars will look to ride the momentum into this weekend, as they travel to North Idaho College. North Idaho is 1-1 in East Region Play, with both games coming by way of forfeit. North Idaho is 6-4 overall for the season.

The Chukars will be at home on Wednesday, January 26th, and Saturday, January 29th, as Walla Walla and Wenatchee Valley come to town.
