Chukars Take Two from Clark in High-Scoring Showdowns

[Vancouver, WA] - Treasure Valley Community College came out swinging in its matchup against Clark College, securing back-to-back victories in a pair of high-scoring, hard-fought contests. The Chukars showcased their offensive depth and resilience, earning 13-10 and 11-10 wins to improve their record and build early-season momentum.

In the first game, Treasure Valley's bats set the tone in a 13-10 victory fueled by 14 hits. Jessica Broadbent led the charge with four RBIs, delivering two clutch doubles that helped spark big innings in the second and third. Trisha Langston added power to the lineup with a home run and two RBIs, while Rylee Nelson contributed two hits and two RBIs of her own. Kalae Thompson also played a key role, tallying two hits and driving in two runs to keep the offense rolling.

Kellie Malan earned the win in the circle, pitching 5 2/3 innings and striking out five. Though Clark mounted a late push, Shea Richardson came in to shut the door with 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief, helping secure the Chukars' first win of the series.

The second game proved even more dramatic, as Treasure Valley battled through 10 innings to edge Clark 11-10 in an extra-inning thriller. The Chukars jumped out early with a three-run first inning, highlighted by Charyne Koko's two-RBI single. Kynzee Dixon delivered one of the biggest swings of the day with a two-run home run in the third and finished 3-for-5 with two RBIs in a standout performance.

After Clark stormed back with a six-run surge in the middle innings, Treasure Valley refused to fold. In the top of the tenth, the Chukars capitalized on defensive miscues, with McKenzie Dean reaching on an error that allowed the go-ahead run to score. Thompson followed with an RBI double to provide a crucial insurance run.

Richardson picked up the win after pitching 5 1/3 innings, while Malan closed out the final 4 2/3 innings to earn the save, allowing just one unearned run in relief.
