Multiple Chukars Named to Softball All-Region
[Ontario, OR] - The Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) released the 2025 All-Region Awards on May 12th. Treasure Valley Softball had six student-athletes named to the All-Region teams. 
 
Freshman Janelle Zapata from Taylorsville, UT was named to the East Region 1st Team as a utility player. Zapata led TVCC with a .425 batting average. Zapata has recorded 35 RBIs on the year, with 51 total hits and 40 runs. In the field, Zapata has caught multiple games this season, and has also played third base and shortstop throughout the year. Zapata has a .903 fielding percentage and made an appearance in 39 games during the season. 
 
Freshman Ashlyn Crone, out of Kuna, ID was named to the East Region 2nd Team as a pitcher. Crone led all Chukar pitchers with 59 strikeouts in 115.2 innings pitched. Crone appeared in 40 games during the regular season, with a .932 fielding percentage.
 
Izzy Mabey, a freshman from Herriman, UT, made the East Region 2nd Team as an infielder. Mabey played first base for the Chukars, and finished the regular season with a .940 fielding percentage. Mabey led the team with 134 putouts on the season. 
 
As the only sophomore named All-Region, Keysha Mckean is a dual-sport student-athlete for TVCC from Plain City, UT. After finishing volleyball season in the fall, Mckean appeared in 30 games during the softball season after coming off an early season injury. Mckean was also named to the East Region 2nd Team as an infielder. Mckean typically played 2nd base for the Chukars. Mckean finished the regular season with a fielding percentage of .885, with 47 putouts and 38 assists. 
 
Moving to the outfield, freshman Trisha Langston, also from Herriman, UT, played centerfield for the Chukars. Langston was named to the East Region 2nd Team in the outfield. Langston appeared in 42 games during the regular season and finished with a .917 fielding percentage. Langston was second on the team in putouts with 95 during the year. 
 
Named to the East Region 2nd Team as a DH/DP was freshman Kaymbri Beck from Burley, ID. Beck's batting average was .336, and she recorded 40 RBIs on the year, while leading the team in home runs with 11 on the season. Beck was second on the team in slugging percentage, sporting a .767 average. Beck led the team with 45 runs for the season. 
 
Treasure Valley softball will travel to the NWAC Tournament in Portland, OR as the #13 seed, where they play the #4 seed Mt. Hood Community College on Thursday, May 15th at 1:00pm pacific time.
