TVCC Softball Drops Two Against CSI

[Twin Falls, ID] - In a doubleheader against the College of Southern Idaho Golden Eagles, the Chukars offensive struggles in game one and defensive errors in game two cost them to lose to CSI by scores of 8-0 and 13-2. Both these matchups went 5 innings.

Starting on the mound for the Chukars was sophomore Sydney Shober. Shober had two strikeouts on the day. Game 1 was a close ballgame until the Eagles posted a 7 run inning in the bottom of the fourth. Game 1 for the Chuks consisted of 0 runs, 0 hits, and 2 errors.

As for game two, the Chuks were ahead of the 19th-ranked Eagles through two innings. CSI once more had a strong 4th inning, where they added 9 points to their lead and ultimately run-ruled the Chuks. Despite the loss, the Chuks were able to get their bats going in game two with 8 total hits. Amber Wickel and Bailey Mitchell each had two hits of their own. Shayla Cherry, Mauri Wade, Mckenna Todd, and Jessika Alder each had hits of their own. On the mound, this game was Wickel, who had four strikeouts and just four earned runs.

The Chuks will have a quick turnaround as they travel to Wenatchee Valley on Friday, March 25th, and Yakima Valley on Saturday, March 26th. Each of these matchups will be doubleheaders and will continue to count towards the overall and RPI ranking for the softball NWAC softball standings.
