Chukar Soccer Takes Down Cardinals 2-1

[Ontario, OR] - The Chukar Men's Soccer team picked up their first East Region win of the season as they took down the Cardinals of North Idaho on Wednesday evening. North Idaho was first on the scoreboard at the 24:00 minute mark, but the Chukars put the next two goals up, both in the second half as time was winding down, at the 80:00 and 84:00 minute mark. Freshman Thamini Echasa netted the first goal solo, and freshman Jaaziel Chavez put the ball back in the net for the second goal courtesy of a Mathieu Siwatwa assist.

TVCC was able to keep the ball away from their own goal, as freshman goalkeeper Fernando Garcia recorded three saves in the game, compared to the NIC goalkeeper recording ten saves.

The Chukars will be at home for two more games before hitting the road again. They will host the Wenatchee Valley Knights on Saturday, and the Spokane Sasquatch on Wednesday. Both games will kick-off following the conclusion of the women's games. Women will play at 12 and 2 pm, respectively, with the men scheduled for 2:15 and 4:15 pm, respectively.
