Borah High School Standout Yohanes Mina Signs with Treasure Valley Community College Men’s Basketball

Borah High School senior guard Yohanes Mina has officially signed to continue his basketball career at Treasure Valley Community College (TVCC) in Ontario, Oregon, joining the Chukars' men's basketball program for the 2025–2026 season.

Mina, a dynamic playmaker known for his court vision, defensive intensity, and leadership, played a pivotal role in Borah High's success over the past two seasons. He was named Team MVP in his senior year, reflecting his consistent impact on and off the court.

Treasure Valley Community College, a member of the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC), has a strong tradition of developing student-athletes and preparing them for success both academically and athletically.

"We are excited to get a local talent here at Treasure Valley," said TVCC Head Coach Eric Holbrook. "Yohanes has a really high upside and is a great person. We are excited to get him out here in the fall and help him develop!"

"When I went on my visit, Coach Eric and the players had a very welcoming attitude," said Mina. "The competitive mindset the program has will push me to become a better player. TVCC offers the major I want to go after, and it's also close to home—which is great!"

Mina also expressed gratitude for the support that helped him reach this milestone: "I want to thank my coaches, teammates, and especially my family—my dad Mamo, mom Safiya, sisters Alem, Bezi, Maryam, and Tigest, and brothers Thomas and Abraham—for always believing in me and supporting me every step of the way."

Mina will join TVCC this fall to start his collegiate basketball career.
