Chuks win big 16-9 and drop game two 7-4 for split with Big Bend CC

(Ontario, OR) - The TVCC Chukar baseball team, battling to get into the playoffs, came out swinging in game one on Saturday at Elks Memorial Field, winning 16-9 over Big Bend CC. But then dropped game two 7-4.

In game one: The Chukars banged out 18 hits, including home runs by Tanner Cantwell and Nolan Jekich. Jerred Seamons went 2-5 with 4 RBI, Cole Jones went 3-6, Logan LaFamina went 3-5 with 3 RBI. Kaleb Jones picked up the win in relief of starter Tyler Roper.

In game two: The CHUKS battled back to tie the game in the bottom of the sixth inning and took the lead in the 8th on a 2 out solo homerun by Dylan Mansanzarez. However in the top half of the ninth, the CHUKS gave up a grand slam HR giving BBCC the 7-4 win.

Cole Jones went 2-5 with a solo HR. Nolan Jekich went 2-4, Brad Jekich went 2-4. Jaden Jensen suffered the loss.

The Chukars, 23-18 overall and 14-10 in league, will travel to Blue Mountain CC on Wednesday.
