Chukars drop two with Big Bend CC 7-2 and 4-3
(Ontario, OR) - The TVCC baseball team dropped both games at Big Bend CC on Saturday afternoon losing game one 7-2 and dropping game two 4-3.
In game one: Cole Jones went 2-4 as it was not enough as the CHUKS could only score two runs on 7 hits. Starter Tanner Cantwell went 3 1/3 giving up 6 hits and 3 runs with 4 strikeouts and 1 BB. Chase Barerra and Logan LaFemina had the RBI's for the CHUKS in the top of the 9th inning.
In game two: The Chukars were tied going into the top of the 9th inning. Nolan Jekich (3-4) singled to start the inning. Barerra sacrified Jekich over to second base. LaFemina singled to move runners to 1st and 3rd. Tyler Roper delivered the go ahead RBI double and give the CHUKS the 3-2 lead going to the bottom of the 9th.
The CHUKARS could not hold the lead despite reliever Jaden Jensen getting the first two hitters to ground out and fly out. The Vikings rally with 2 outs to score two runs to pull out the win 4-3.
The Chukars, 15-14 overall and 6-6 in league, will host Wenatchee Valley College on Wednesday.
