Chukar Wrestling Defeated by Badgers
[Jerome, ID] - Treasure Valley Community College took on the NJCAA #9 ranked Snow College in a competitive dual on Wednesday, coming up just short in a closely contested matchup. Snow opened the dual at 103 pounds with Ali Hansen earning a fall over TVCC's Marlie Skidmore, followed by a technical fall by Kathryn Christensen over Deci Aye at 110 pounds. TVCC answered back at 117 pounds as Gracie Strickland secured an impressive fall over Kaylee Young, who is ranked #5 in the NJCAA, and Abby Mardock continued the momentum at 124 pounds with a fall against Lilly Lake.
At 131 pounds, Snow's Emily Pasillas earned a decision over Treasure Valley's Elena Flores, and Snow added points at 138 pounds with a technical fall by Inaily Samaniego over Bailey Seley. TVCC picked up key wins at 145 pounds and 160 pounds, with Ava Collins earning a major decision over Abbigail Reeves. TVCC's Gracin Dennis secured a major decision against Leticia Garcia of Snow. The Badgers responded at 180 pounds as Maeli Howard recorded a fall over Chukar Kisten Elbek, and Snow College closed out the dual with forfeits at 207 pounds and 235 pounds. Despite the final result, TVCC showed resilience and strong individual performances against a top-10 NJCAA opponent.
