Katelyn was interviewed about her achievement, and she provided the below information:

My journey at Treasure Valley Community College has been a transformative one, both personally and athletically. As a volleyball player, I've experienced moments of triumph that have not only shaped my confidence but also rekindled my love for the sport.

A Memorable Achievement

One of my most cherished achievements was being recognized as Offensive Player of the Week last season. Throughout my volleyball career, I have worked hard and strived to do well, but this was the first time I felt acknowledged as a good athlete. It was a moment that stood out and filled me with a sense of pride and accomplishment.

The Big Bend Game

Another standout moment was our home opener against Big Bend. The nerves were running high as I stepped onto the court, but I channeled that adrenaline into fuel. For the first time, I played without the constant fear of making mistakes, especially in front of a crowd. It marked the beginning of our conference play and symbolized the return of my confidence and love for the game. I was excited for what the rest of the season would bring, both for me and my team.

Victory Over Highline

One of my favorite memories with my teammates is our victory over Highline last season, during the Sweet 16. This win secured our spot in the Elite Eight, and the energy and excitement throughout the game were unparalleled. It was one of the best games we played as a team, not just in terms of skill but also in creating an unmatched environment in the opponent's gym. The camaraderie and fun we shared in that moment were truly special.

The Key to Success

Reflecting on these memories, I realize that I play my best when I'm having fun and surrounded by teammates who I can laugh with, be myself around, and who push me to be a better person both athletically and personally. These experiences have influenced my perspective on my athletic career and personal growth, reminding me of the importance of enjoying the journey and the people I share it with.

Time Management

Finding balance in my daily life as a student-athlete requires effective time management. I prioritize my tasks by creating to-do lists and tackling the most important ones first. When I feel overwhelmed, I take things one step at a time, avoiding the pressure of trying to do too much at once. By focusing on short-term goals, I gradually work towards achieving my long-term aspirations. To prevent burnout and maintain a healthy balance, I make it a point to complete important tasks during the week when I don't have practice or games. This allows me to have personal and family time on the weekends, rejuvenating my spirit for the challenges ahead. With the continuous support of my coaches, teammates, and academic advisors, I am able to manage my time effectively and pursue my goals both on and off the court.
