TVCC Volleyball Brings Home Five Post Season Honors

[Ontario, OR] - The Treasure Valley Community College Volleyball season is not yet over, but five members of the squad were announced to have earned post season awards. Head Coach Rylie Engelson, in her 3rd year at TVCC, was named East Region Coach of the Year. The Chukars finished 2nd place in the East Region with a conference record of 11-3, and an overall record of 22-5.
Two young women were named to the East Region 1st Team, including freshmen Katelyn Markley and Naomi Shipley. Markley from Owyhee High School in Meridian, ID, finished the regular season with 302 kills, an average of 3.39 per set (9th in NWAC). Setter Naomi Shipley, out of Pocatello High School in Pocatello, ID, finished the regular season with 720 assists. Shipley is 9th in the NWAC in assists per set, averaging 8.18.
Earning East Region 2nd Team honors is Karly Clark, a freshman out of Cole Valley Christian School in Eagle, ID. Clark finished the regular season with 212 kills and 275 digs.
Rounding out the awards is sophomore dual-sport athlete Keysha Mckean. Mckean, who also plays softball for TVCC, was awarded East Region 3rd Team. She attended Fremont High School out of Plain City, UT. Mckean finished the regular season with 226 digs.
Chukar Volleyball will begin their post season run as they travel to the West Regional hosted by West #1 seed Highline on November 16th & 17th. They will face South #3 seed Southwestern Oregon on Saturday, November 16th at 10am PST. Two teams from each region will advance to the Elite 8 on November 22nd-24th in Lakewood, WA.
