Chukar Volleyball Picks up Final Home Win, Coach Engelson Hits Career Milestone
[Ontario, OR] - The Treasure Valley Community College Volleyball team wrapped up their regular season home games with a win over the Warriors from Walla Walla on Wednesday night. With two games left in East Region play, both road contests, the Chukars have clinched a postseason berth. TVCC will pay a visit to Wenatchee Valley College (7-6 East, 19-10 overall), and Big Bend Community College (4-8 East, 11-16 overall) on November 8th and 9th. Wenatchee Valley has also clinched a postseason berth, solidifying 4th place in the East. Treasure Valley currently has a 9-3 East Region record, and an overall record of 20-5.
East Region volleyball fans will be needing two screens to keep up with Friday night's action, as the outcomes of Treasure Valley @ Wenatchee Valley and Columbia Basin @ Yakima Valley will determine the final seeding of the East Region. The Chukars currently sit 3rd place in the East, with Yakima Valley sitting in 2nd place. The Yaks (10-3 East, 17-10 overall) have one game left, welcoming 1st place Columbia Basin (13-0 East, 24-3 overall) to Yakima on Friday, November 8th. Then, on Saturday night, all eyes will be in Moses Lake as the matchup between the Chukars and Vikings will be the only NWAC Volleyball contest of the evening.
In Wednesday night's victory over the Warriors, Head Coach Rylie Engelson earned her 50th career win leading the Chukar Volleyball program. This is Coach Engelson's 3rd year as the head coach at TVCC.
NWAC Volleyball postseason play begins with Regionals, hosted by the #1 seeds, on November 16th and 17th. Two teams from each region will then advance to the Elite 8 on November 22nd-24th hosted by Pierce College in Lakewood, Washington.
