Chukars Earn Victory to Kick Off 2024 Season
[Ontario, OR] - On Thursday, the Treasure Valley Community College Women's Soccer team hosted the Gladiators from Pacific Northwest Christian College. PNWCC made the trip from Kennewick, WA. The Chukars, led by first-year Head Coach Mikkael Hernholm, earned a 2-1 victory to kick off the season. The Chukars are freshman-heavy this season, with only six sophomores on the roster of nineteen.

In the 18th minute, Elizabeth Phillips sent a beautiful pass to Allie Hurst, who was able to find the back of the net to put TVCC up 1-0. The Gladiators were able to tie up the score before going into the half, after a successful PK attempt. As time was coming to the end, Jada Danielle Gonzales had her own PK attempt, which put the Chukars up 2-1 in the 72nd minute. The opponent was unable to match that goal, leading TVCC to the win. Chukar goalkeepers Araceli Maestas and Ashlyn Webb each played one half on the defensive end, both finishing with two saves.

The Chukars travel to the NWAC Friendlies in Tukwila, WA to take on Highline on Tuesday, August 20th, and South Puget Sound on Wednesday, August 21st.
