Chukars Defeat Knights to Earn Key East Region Victory

[Wenatchee, WA] - Treasure Valley Community College Women's Basketball team competed against Wenatchee Valley Community College this past Saturday, securing a decisive 85-53 victory. Coming off a recent loss to Columbia Basin earlier in the week, the Chukars needed a significant win on the road, having entered the game with a 1-3 away record.

In a commanding performance, the Chukars outpaced the Wenatchee Knights in the fourth quarter, outscoring them 23-9. Their success was bolstered by a strong rebounding effort and exceptional ball movement, culminating in 22 assists. Five Chukars players hit double digits in scoring, with standout performances from Grace Hogan and Reagan Jones, each contributing 16 points.
 
The victory was characterized by a cohesive team effort, as noted by coach Riley Helmick: "I am proud of our team for bouncing back in a big way after our loss earlier in the week. It was a great team victory in which everyone contributed to get a much-needed win on the road."
 
This win was crucial for the Chukars, as it marked an important road victory and demonstrated the team's ability to rally and support one another, reflecting their resilience and teamwork.
 
TVCC currently sits T-4th in the Eastern Region standings with a 5-3 record. The will host the NWAC #2 ranked Vikings of Big Bend, currently 1st in the East Region standings with a 7-1 record, on Saturday at 2pm.
