Madison Van Sickle Awarded NWAC Softball Hitter of the Week for April 17th-23rd

[Ontario, OR] - Chukar shortstop Madison Van Sickle has won the week 10 NWAC Softball Hitter of the Week for April 17th-23rd. Over that week, Van Sickle helped lead the Chukars to 3-1, splitting with Blue Mountain, and sweeping Yakima on the road. In those four games, Madison went 13-16, including at least 3 hits in each game, 10 RBI, scoring 10 runs, 6 doubles, and 2 stolen bases. 

Madison leads the Chukars in hits, doubles, home runs, RBIs, batting average, and on base percentage. Van Sickle currently sits 6th in the NWAC stat leaders in batting average with .536, 6th in RBI with 54, tied for 9th in home runs with 11. 

Coach Gordy Ogawa said this about his RS-Fr shortstop: "Madi had a great week at the plate and at short stop... she has helped the Chuks hitting in the number 3 spot in the line up and continues to work hard and encourages her teammates."

The Chukars, sitting T-3rd in the East Region at 15-5, travel to Spokane (8-10) and North Idaho (14-4) on April 28th & 29th.
