[Nampa, ID] - Treasure Valley Community College Track and Field participated in the Northwest Nazarene University Open this weekend, navigating challenging weather conditions with off and on rain and a thunder delay lasting about an hour. The team delivered an impressive performance highlighted by a series of record-breaking achievements and personal bests.
The meet saw Treasure Valley athletes set one school record, achieve 11 top ten all-time marks, and secured one NWAC qualifying event. Among the notable performances, Emma Barton delivered a standout 25-second personal record, earning her a spot in the NWAC championships and placing her seventh on the college's all-time top ten list.
The 4x100 meter relay team, consisting of Omar Osman, Jose Torres, Payton Travis, and Claytin Harper, shattered the previous school record set in 2025. Their new record time of 43.21 seconds not only set a new benchmark for Treasure Valley but also ranked them eighth in the NWAC standings.
Treasure Valley athletes collectively achieved 21 new personal records, with seven marks ranking in the top 16 of the NWAC. The team's ability to compete against larger schools was a defining aspect of their performance.
Reflecting on the meet, the coach Ryan Jaggi expressed satisfaction, stating, "Stoked to see our 4x1 come together. I was happy to see our kids compete against some bigger schools and not back down. Everyone got after it."
