Chukars vs. Gladiators Ends in Tie

[Ontario, OR] - The Treasure Valley Community College Men's Soccer team kicked off their season on Thursday, welcoming the Pacific Northwest Christian College Gladiators. TVCC is coached by Mario Grimaldo, who is in his first season as the head coach of the Chukars. The game ended in a 1-1 tie. Coach Grimaldo has eighteen freshman on the roster this season, with five sophomore returners. 

 

The Chukars were off to a slow start, as the Gladiators were able to score a goal in the 12^th minute. Goalkeeper Saul Sanchez played 90 minutes, only allowing one goal. Sanchez finished with four saves. At the break, the Chukars found themselves down by one goal, and having taken four shots on goal in the first half. They were able to regroup and share the ball, leading to a 76^th minute goal by Antony Chavez, by way of Bonee Siwatwa.

 

TVCC is scheduled to take on Carroll College on the campus of Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, ID on Saturday, August 24th.
