CHUKS WIN....advance to the sweet 16 at the NWAC Championship Tournament
(Ontario, OR) - The TVCC women's basketball team trailed at the half by 12, but came roaring back in the second half outscoring the Yakima Yaks 50-26 in the second half to win 76-64 and advance to the NWAC Championship tournament in Everett, WA.
Freshman Mia Berenguer sparked the second half rally scoring 14 points off the bench, including 2-5 from the 3 point line. Riley Helmick added 13, Chelsee Baker and Gentry Oldham each added 11 points. Oldham also grabbed a game high 15 rebounds.
The Chukars finish the regular season with a 17-11 overall record and advance to the sweet sixteen this weekend in the NWAC Championship tournament. The Chukars will play #1 seed Umpqua CC on Saturday morning at 10 am.
