CHUKS advance to Tip Off title game

(Yakima, WA) - The TVCC Lady Chuks basketball team beat the host Yakima Valley College Yaks in the semifinal game by the score of 63-59 to advance to the title game Sunday afternoon.

Sophomore Gentry Oldham led the CHUKS with her second straight double double with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Sophomore Riley Helmick added a career high 23 points on 3-9 from the 3 point line and a perfect 12-12 from the free throw line.

Freshman Taylor Whitney added 6 points and 10 rebounds. The CHUKS trailed by 7 points at the half and outscored the Yaks by 11 points in the second half.

The CHUKS, 2-0 on the season, will take on Walla Walla CC Sunday afternoon.
