Chukars Split Doubleheader with Golden Eagles
[Ontario, OR] - The Treasure Valley Community College Softball team hosted the NJCAA College of Southern Idaho Golden Eagle Softball team on Tuesday, March 19th. The Chukars split the day with the Golden Eagles, dropping the first game 7-0, and taking the second game 3-0.

In game one, Halle Leavitt was the starting pitcher. She went 4.0 innings, striking out 5 batters. Madyson Arellano came in to relieve Leavitt, going 3.0 innings and striking out 2 batters. The Chukars struggled getting the bat on the ball, as they only had 3 hits in the loss, and left 8 runners on base.

In game two, The Chukars came in with newfound energy and were able to regroup, starting with Shaylee Burraston pitching. Burraston went all 7.0 innings, giving up 3 hits, no runs, 2 walks, and 6 strikeouts. Alexa Rice hit a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 4th inning. The Chukar defense also made stellar plays, including a dart from centerfielder Leia Jenkins to 2nd base to throw a CSI runner out as they looked to turn their single into a double.

The Chukars are back in action on the road Friday, as they pay a visit to the Yakima Valley Yaks in East Region play.
