Tennis Opens Season at Oregon State University

[Corvallis, OR] – The Treasure Valley Community College Women's and Men's Tennis teams traveled to Corvallis, OR to battle with the Oregon State University Club teams on March 9th and 10th. On the first day, Chukar women Elena Henry, Brenda Ramirez, and Erin Hawker took victories over their opponents, while Michelle Torres and Addison Raebel lost in very close battles. In the doubles action, Raebel and Torres combined to take the victory.

On the men's side, Max Walters, Kaden Giles, Ricardo Leyva, Issak Garcia, Jordan Groat, and Koda Alvarez were winners in singles action. In doubles action, Giles and Leyva, Jared Hally and Groat, Garcia and Alvarez, and Spencer Bayes and Walters combined to be victorious in their matches. All four of the men's doubles matches went in favor of the Chukars.

In the final day of action, Brenda Ramirez, Erin Hawker, Michelle Torres, and Addison Raebel were the winners in the women's singles action. The Chukar pairs of Elena Henry and Ramirez, and Hawker and Torres were the winners on the women's doubles matches.

Day two of the men's action saw Ricardo Leyva, Jared Hally, Issak Garcia, and Jordan Groat rise to a win in singles action. In doubles action, Hally and Groat were victorious, as were Garcia and Koda Alvarez.

The Chukars kicked off the season with lots of victories over the OSU Club team, getting them on the right track as they prepare to host Spokane Community College on Saturday, March 30th in Ontario.
