"I'm excited for Trevon to receive this honor," said TVCC Vice President of Student Services and NWAC Executive Board Member Travis McFetridge. "Trevon is well known on campus with students, staff, faculty and administration. Trevon is a great example of what we aspire our student athletes to be as a Chukar Athlete. His hard work in the classroom, positive energy on campus, and relentless effort on the court have earned him this much deserved recognition from the NWAC."

Cason's performance for the Chukars during the 2023-24 season has helped earn them the #4 ranking in the NWAC Men's Basketball Coaches Poll that came out on January 9th, 2024. This is the highest that TVCC Men's Basketball has been ranked since the beginning of the poll. The Chukars jumped to #4 after being ranked #7 in the first poll of the year that was released on December 12th. Notably, the Chukars were unranked when the preseason polls came out in late October.
