CHUKS split on the road at Yakima
(Yakima, WA) - The TVCC baseball team wins game one 5-3 but could not keep the momentum rolling as the Yaks from Yakima Valley came back to win game two of the doubleheader, 5-1.
In game one: Sophomore Tanner Cantwell delivered a big first inning 2 RBI double to get the CHUKS off to a good start. Cantwell went 2-5 with RBI's. Jerred Seamons went 2-4 with an RBI, Tyler Roper went 2-4 and Chase Barerra went 2-3 with an RBI to lead the CHUKAR offense.
Starting pitcher Tyler Laird went 5.1 innings scattering 6 hits with 2 BB and 2 strikeouts.
In game two: The Chukars only collected 5 hits in game two. Roper went 2-4 while Seamons, Nolan Jekich, and Barerra had the other hits for the CHUKS. Ty Hueckman suffered the loss.
The Chukars, 20-17 overall and 11-9 in league, will host Walla Walla CC this Wednesday.
