CHUKS take two from CBC 2-1 and 9-3
(Ontario, OR) - In a steady drizzle all afternoon, the CHUKS took two from Columbia Basin College Wednesday afternoon to open up East Region Conference play, and extended their winning streak to 4 games.
Game one: Starting pitcher Tyler Laird went 7.0 innings scattering 5 hits and gave up one earned run. Sophomore Levi Abrahamson picked up the save in the 2-1 win for the CHUKS. Sophomore Cole Jones went 2-4 with his second triple of the year and drove in a run.
Game two: Starting pitcher, freshman Ty Hueckman went 6.0 innings and gave up 5 hits and 1 earned run to lift the CHUKS to a 9-3 win. Sophomore Tyler Roper went 3-5 with an RBI and Jones went 2-4 and Tanner Cantwell went 2-5 and drove in two runs.
The Chukars, 11-8 overall and 2-0 in league, will travel to Spokane this Saturday.
