NIC wins conference opener on the road

ONTARIO, Ore. — Rachael Stacey had 14 kills and 15 digs for the Cardinals, who outlasted the Chukars 31-29, 25-18, 25-27, 25-19 in a Northwest Athletic Conference match.

Grace Keisel had 11 kills, five blocks and two aces, Rylee Hartwig — a sophomore from Post Falls High — 10 kills and three blocks for NIC (9-1, 1-0 NWAC).

"It was very back and forth in that first set," NIC coach Brittany Tilleman said. "We'd go on a run, then have an unforced error and they'd gain some energy from the crowd. We kind of struggled out of the gate, but did a good job of staying positive and our hitters starting hitting their shots."

Karolyne Wolfgramm had 44 assists and two aces, Abby Beaton four blocks for NIC, which competes in the Bellevue Crossover on Friday and Saturday.

Addison Raebel, a freshman from Lakeland High, had 15 kills and six digs for Treasure Valley (3-5, 1-1).
