Cross Country Wraps Up Season at NWAC Championships
[Spokane, WA] - Treasure Valley Community College Cross Country participated in the NWAC Championships held on Monday, November 10th, in Spokane Valley. The men's team secured a 6th place finish out of 11 teams, while the women's team placed 7th in a highly competitive field of eight.
In the men's race, Brayden Lamanna delivered a standout performance, finishing 3rd overall with a time of 25:46.1. His exceptional freshman season included setting and then twice breaking the school record. Lamanna's achievements earned him both an automatic All-Conference selection and Junior College All-American honors. As a team, the Chukar men set a strong tone for the day, racing competitively to their 6th place finish, and anticipate a promising future with the return of most top runners and new recruits.
For the women's team, Jessa Hunt led Treasure Valley, finishing 20th overall with a time of 24:37.0. Competing in a tough field, the women's team showed potential for higher placements, with a return of four out of their top five runners next season, indicating a bright future.
Concluding a "rebuild" year, TVCC Cross Country turned heads with their performances, establishing a solid foundation for the program's growth and competitiveness in the coming years.
