Three Chukars Earn Post Season Awards

[Ontario, OR] - The TVCC volleyball coaching staff is excited to announce that Macey Buesher, Kylee Edwards, and McCall Maxfield all have been nominated for an East Region team. The Chukars have had a hard-fought season and have been able to solidify a spot in the post conference tournament. The 3 student-athletes that have been nominated showed dedication, sacrifice, and hard work consistently throughout the season.

Sophomore, Macey Buesher, was nominated for 1 st Team East Region and being the only libero in the lineup. Not only did she make the 1st team, but Macey was also voted for the East Region Sophomore All Star team. Macey is one of the team captains on the team and shows what it takes to be a leader on and off the court. She takes the time to make sure that the little things are taken care of. Macey has currently passed an average of 2.2 and has 320 digs in all east region matches. Along with that, she capped off the season with 21 aces.

Freshman, Kylee Edwards, was nominated for 2nd Team East Region just in her first year of being a Chukar. "Kylee is a weapon for us on the court and when we can give her the ball, we do. We talk a lot about making sure that we must do our individual job on and off the court and Kylee makes sure that she does her job, and she does it well. Each time you look at her she has a smile on her face and is always ready to compete", reported Coach Engelson and Coach Bogar. Kylee has a hitting percentage of a 0.256 on the season and finished with 21 blocks.

To round off the list of honors, McCall Maxfield was honored with making the East Region Sophomore All Star team. This group consists of the top 15 Sophomores that the East Region coaches voted on and the Chukars are very proud of these two for making that prestigious list. The coaches believe that she is one of our most improved on the season with her determination to become a better player on the court and her drive for success. McCall has a hitting percentage of a 0.184 on the season and finished with 41 blocks. She also has a total of 15 aces as well.

"We are very proud of not only this team but the members that have been recognized for their hard work. We are excited to see what the future has to hold for these Sophomores. Kylee Edwards has one more year of eligibility and is excited to get to work in the off season to prepare for the next season. Go Chuks!"

The Chukars went from a 2-15 overall record during the 2021-22 season and a 9th place finish in the East Region to a 10-15 overall record and 4th place finish in the East Region during the 2022-23 season.
