Chukars Drop First NWAC Match of Year to Visiting Spokane

[Ontario, OR] - On Saturday, September 18th, the Treasure Valley CC Volleyball team hosted NWAC East Region opponent Spokane. The Chukars got off to a slow start in the first set, as they fell behind early and struggled to push back. TVCC lost the first set with a score of 11-25. However, after the first set, the Chukars put the pressure on Spokane and kept it close for the final two sets. The Bigfoot of Spokane just edged out the Chukars in set number two, taking a 2-0 set lead with a score of 25-20. The third set was a must win for Treasure Valley, and they started out strong and pushed a lead as the set progressed. Coming down to the wire, Spokane was fighting back and didn't go down easy. In a back and forth battle, the Bigfoot took the win in the third and final set with a score or 27-25, finishing off the Chukars in straight sets. 

Leading the way with 26 digs for the Chukars was #13, Macey Buesher. Ashlynn Sherrill, Eva Murphy, and Laurel Otto all had double digit digs, totaling 16, 12, and 11, respectively. #2 Ashlynn Sherrill tallied 6 kills on the evening, with Laurel Otto totalling 4, and McCall Maxfield & Eva Murphy both recording 3. #1 Maely Harrigfeld recorded 7 assists for the game. 

The Chukars will travel to Blue Mountain on Friday, September 24th before returning home for a Saturday matchup with Big Bend Community College on Saturday, September 25th.
