Chukars Shine at NWAC Championships, Bring Home 23 Medals

Treasure Valley Community College Track and Field recently competed in the Northwest Athletic Conference Tournament, where they delivered an impressive performance. The Chukars brought 15 athletes to the event and returned with a remarkable haul of 23 medals, including two event wins, five event All-Americans, and two new school records.

The team showcased their readiness by surpassing expectations in every event. Notably, Brayden Lamanna emerged as a standout, claiming victory in both the 10k and 5k events. Emma Barton secured third place in the 3k steeplechase and contributed to the 4x400 relay team's fifth-place finish. Jessa Hunt displayed her versatility with a third-place finish in the 1500m, a fifth in the 5k, and a crucial role in the 4x400 relay.

Additional noteworthy performances included Ashten Moore's fourth place in the 400m and Claytin Harper's eighth in the 100m, with both athletes also contributing to the 4x400 relay team's third-place finish. Jose Torres finished sixth in the 200m and was part of the successful 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams. Omar Osman and Payton Travis also played key roles in the relays, while Ambrie Capistran and Leland Tamez added depth with their performances in the pole vault and 400m hurdles, respectively.

Coach's reflections on the season highlighted the team's accomplishments: "This season was a success to say the least. In year one between indoor and outdoor track, we had 112 new top 10 marks and 35 new school records. To say I'm excited about what the future holds is an understatement. HUGE things coming for this program. GO CHUKS."

The Treasure Valley Community College Track and Field team concluded their season on a high note, demonstrating their strength and potential for future success at the NWAC Championships.
