Head Soccer Coach

Ontario, OR - Mark Phillips has been named as the head coach for Treasure Valley Community College's Men's & Women's Soccer teams.

Mark began his playing career at the age of 5 and represented his school, club, and Hampshire at the county level. He played semi-professionally for Romsey Town in England until a knee injury at age 28 ended his hopes of a professional soccer player. He moved to Canada and began playing again. He continues to play the game and has been a part of a winning adult tournament in Boise, ID as well as winning the King Cup in Las Vegas in 2018.

Mark has coached at all levels of the game, from volunteer coaching in the UK and Canada with various youth clubs to moving to the United States and starting his own club team where he managed and coached for a year. He joined the Idaho Rush as an assistant then head coach of the boy's program where he has lead the team to 4 semi-finals matches and won the 1999 Boy's Permier Team State Cup. Mark re-built the Vallivue High School's soccer program after the entire varsity squad moved to the new Ridgeview High School when it opened. In 2019, Mark joined the Chukars as the assistant coach for both the Men's and Women's teams. 

Mark has been coaching for 15+ years and holds US Soccer Coaches D License, United Soccer Coaches Level I, II, & III Goalkeeper Diploma, and Community Coach Level recognition in Canada.
