Women's Basketball Snaps Losing Streak, Earns Win over Visiting CBC

[Ontario, OR] - In a packed home game, filled with many fans and parents, the Lady Chuks knocked down the Columbia Basin womens' basketball team with a final score of 72-56. This was a much-needed win, as it snapped the Chuks three-game losing streak and moved the Chuks to 6-7 in their conference.

Leading the way for the Chuks was Hanna Roberts with 19 points, Maunayia Harrigfield with 16, and also in double digits was McKell Parkison with 11. Roberts and Harrigfield also notably had 19 and 17 rebounds, respectively. Outnumbering CBC in field goal percentage and rebounds, the Chuks were able to seal the victory.

The Lady Chuks need to win out and have some help from other teams throughout the East Region of the NWAC to make the postseason. With this win over CBC, the Chuks are still alive. On Saturday, February 26th, the Chukars will play Wenatchee Valley at 2:00 pm MST. This will be the first matchup of the season between these teams, as Wenatchee took a COVID forfeit earlier this year. Wenatchee Valley is currently ranked 3rd as they are 8-4 in their conference.
