Weather Delays Prevent Chukar Comeback

Ontario, OR - Lady Chukar Softball suffered a tough loss on Wednesday, March 27th, at 18-6 in six innings to the Wenatchee Valley Knights.

The second game of the double header was stopped in the third inning due to darkness. It will be finished on April 10th in Wenatchee, WA. The Knights lead the Chukars 17-0 in the top of the third inning.

Two lightning delays each lasting 40+ minutes caused the games to run late and prevented the Chukars from a mid-game comeback.

Chukars' Katie Davis, from Weiser, ID, hit her first career home run to score 2 in the bottom of the second inning. CJ Davis, her twin sister, had one hit and scored 2 runs. Kenzie White, from New Plymouth, ID, had one hit and scored 1 run. Shaylee Flint, pitcher from Layton, UT, played first base in game one and had three hits, one of them being a home run, three RBIs and scored 1 run. Anna Loomis, of New Plymouth, ID was the starting pitcher for the Chukars, allowing 10 hits, walking 7, and striking out 2. Katie Davis completed the final 2/3 innings, allowing 5 hits and walked 1.

Chukars now at 4-10 will wrap up this week-long home game marathon with doubleheaders against North Idaho College on Friday, March 29th starting at 2:00 PM and Community Colleges of Spokane on Saturday, March 30th starting at 12:00 PM.
