CHUKS split with Wenatchee, move to 3-1 in league

(Caldwell, ID) - The TVCC Chukar softball team opened up East region league play rained out in Ontario and had to play all 4 games in Caldwell and won 3 out of 4 after the split with Wenatchee on Saturday. Freshman Raechal Ringer delivered a huge 2 out 2 RBI walk off single to lift the Chukars over Wenatchee 6-5 in the bottom of the seventh.

Game 1

The defending NWAC champions jumped out to an early 14-0 lead over the Chukars and never looked back. However, the Chukars came back with 9 runs, but fell 17-9 on Saturday in Caldwell. Sophomore Samantha MacFee delivered a grand slam HR and Jenna Gray, Lindsey Hudelson, and Raechal Ringer each had two hits. Katie Davis suffered the loss.

Game 2

The Chukars jumped out to an early 1-0 lead on a solo HR by sophomore Jordan Henley. After the Knights tied it up and eventually jumped out to a 5-1 lead, the Chukars fought back with a couple of runs in the bottom of the sixth on a lead off single by CJ Davis. Raelyn Curry reached on a BB followed by another BB to Ringer. MacFee flied out and Gray into a FC and now the Chukars have two outs and the bases still loaded without scoring. Macie Smith draws a bases loaded BB and Henley delivered a single to bring the Chukars within 2 runs entering the seventh inning.

After Wenatchee was unable to score in the top of the 7th, here comes the Chukars for the dramatic come from behind win. Shaylee Flint leads off with a single. CJ Davis reaches on an error. Curry then doubles scoring Tymber Tenerowicz, who entered the game as a pinchrunner for Flint. With no outs and runners on second and third, Ringer rips a solid single up the middle scoring both runners for the walk off victory for the Chukars.

Henley went 3-4 with 2 RBI's and Ringer went 2-2 with 2 RBI's to lead the Chukars
