Eric Holbrook is in his first year as the Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Treasure Valley Community College. Before coming to TVCC, Coach Holbrook was an assistant coach at Dawson Community College. While at Dawson, he helped impact the campus in multiple roles including the Director of Housing and Community Engagement, the Sports Information Director, and an adjunct faculty member. During his time at DCC, he helped lead the program to a 59-15 (77%) record. With their success he also helped move players on to the NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, and NAIA levels. He also has helped coach five players that were named to the Mon-Dak All-Conference team, two athletes named to the All-Region XIII team, and two players that were named to the NJCAA All-American Team.
Before Dawson, Coach Holbrook was the Head JV Coach, Assistant Coach, and Director of Campus Life at Dickinson State University. During his time there, three players were named to the All-Conference team.
Eric started his coaching and playing career in the NWAC Eastern Region at Spokane Community College under current Spokane Head Coach Jeremy Groth. While coaching at Spokane, he helped lead the program to 77 wins in four seasons. Under Coach Holbrook, Spokane had multiple All-Conference players and had athletes move on to the Division II and NAIA levels. Spokane made the NWAC Tournament every year during his time there and had finishes of 3rd place and 5th place.
As a player at Spokane Community College, he helped win an Eastern Region title and in his sophomore year, he helped lead the team to a 3rd place finish in the NWAC Tournament. He was named to the All-Defensive team his sophomore year and was an NWAC All Star Game participant.
After SCC, Coach Holbrook transferred to the NCAA DII level and played at Western Oregon University. During his time at WOU, he helped the team win a first round playoff game in the GNAC Conference Tournament.
Coach Holbrook grew up in Priest River, Idaho where he was a three-sport athlete. In baseball, he helped the team make the Idaho State Tournament for the first time in Priest River Lamanna High School history. In football, Coach Holbrook was an All-Conference quarterback and broke multiple statistical school records. In basketball, he helped lead the program to the most success the school has ever seen. His sophomore year, he was the Intermountain League Conference MVP and an All-State selection while leading them to their first state tournament victory in school history. Junior season, he helped lead the Spartans to an Idaho High School State Championship and was an All-Conference and All-State selection. His senior year, the Spartans finished in 5th place at the state tournament and he was named the MVP of the IML for the second time, as well as being named to the All-State team. His sophomore, junior, and senior seasons the Spartans won the regular season title and the conference championship.
Holbrook earned two bachelor's degrees from the University of Idaho in 2017. He earned his degrees in Psychology and Organizational Sciences. In May 2022, he earned his Master’s Degree in Athletic Educational Leadership from Dickinson State.
Holbrook stated, “I am extremely excited to be coming back to the NWAC and even more excited to be in the East Region. Treasure Valley Community College has a great campus and athletic department.
