Bonners Ferry's Thomas Bateman Signs with Treasure Valley Men's Basketball

Thomas Bateman, a standout student-athlete from Bonners Ferry High School, has officially signed his letter of intent to continue his basketball career with Treasure Valley Community College (TVCC) Chukars in Ontario, Oregon.

Bateman, a 6'3" guard known for his high basketball IQ, work ethic, and leadership, was a cornerstone of the Badgers' program. Over the course of his high school career, he was named All-Conference three times, earned First Team All-State honors twice, and was a two-time Idaho State Champion. His consistent performance and leadership helped elevate Bonners Ferry into one of the premier small-school programs in the state.

"I chose Treasure Valley because I like the team and the environment. I also believe it will be a good place to grow and compete as a player," said Bateman.

Bateman is the son of Jed and Tomi Bateman of Bonners Ferry. He comes from a large and supportive family that includes his brother, Ty Bateman, and six sisters: Kadi, Maggie, Taren, Jaycee, Jacobie, and Autumn. His family has been a driving force behind his development both on and off the court.

TVCC Head Coach Eric Holbrook expressed strong confidence in Bateman's potential. "Thomas to me is a no-brainer to bring into the program," said Holbrook. "Tough North Idaho kid who has won two straight state championships. Add that with his character and work ethic, and that is exactly the kind of guys we want in our program."

Bateman will join the Chukars this fall as they prepare for the 2025-2026 Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) season.
