Chukar Men's Basketball Signs North Idaho Standout
Treasure Valley Community College Men's Basketball is proud to announce the addition of Greyson Sands, a former standout at St. Maries High School (ID), who is transferring in from Eastern Oregon University.
Sands, brings college-level experience and a strong work ethic to the Chukar program. A dynamic guard, he was a driving force behind St. Maries' recent high school success and is expected to make an immediate impact at Treasure Valley.
During his high school career, Sands earned numerous accolades, including being named the 2A Idaho State Player of the Year, a two-time Idaho Central Idaho League (CIL) First Team selection, and a two-time 2A Idaho State First Team honoree.
Off the court, Sands was equally impressive. He was an active member of Business Professionals of America (BPA), where he competed on the Project Management Team that finished 1st in the state. He also qualified for BPA Nationals twice, showcasing his leadership and academic dedication.
"We are excited to bring Greyson in," said Head Coach Eric Holbrook. "Having a point guard come in that is high IQ, high character, and someone who wants to get better is always a good thing."
When asked about his decision, Sands shared, "I chose TVCC to be a part of a program that values hard work and consistency. Coach Holbrook and the guys are committed to the process and building a winning culture. I can't wait to get to work and start winning!"
Greyson is the son of Chris and Shilo Sands, and has a brother, Coy Sands, and a sister, Arie Sands. His family has been a strong support system throughout his basketball journey.
Sands will join the Chukars for the upcoming 2025-26 season, bolstering an already promising roster.
