Chukar Baseball Continues Winning Streak

[Ontario, OR] - After finishing off the series with Walla Walla with two more wins on April 9th, the Chukar baseball team swept in their double-header against Blue Mountain on April 13th. Scores for the last double-header against Walla Walla were 13-12 in extra innings and 9-5 in game two.

The Chuks have done a good job of defending their home field. Their wins against Blue Mountain were scores of 7-5 and 4-2. In game one, Treasure Valley had 12 runs and 4 errors. At the plate, catcher Ivan Marquez posted 3 hits and 3 RBIs, leading his team. Austin Ollar, Joey Raker, and Ace Felise had two hits in this ballgame as well. On the mound in this game for the Chuks was Joey Raker for three innings, Jordan Wiggins for two, and Adrian Burciaga, David Henze and Jaime Silva had one. Raker led his team with 5 strikeouts.

Game two was a lower-scoring game, with the Chuks posting 4 runs, 7 hits, and 2 errors versus the opposing Timberwolves who had 2 runs, 5 hits, and no errors. Cody Higgins had two RBIs in the game. Andrew Sharp, Joey Raker, and Austin Ollar all remained consistent with their bats as they had hits on the day as well. Pitching for the Chuks was Cory Apker with 4.2 innings pitched and 5 strikeouts. Shai Lolo-Tamashiro with 2.1 innings pitched and 2 strikeouts. Kash Akita also threw an inning and had 2 strikeouts. Joey Raker had 3 strikeouts in his inning pitched.

The Chuks will next travel to Pendleton, Oregon to finish their series against Blue Mountain. These games will take place on Friday, April 15th. The Chukar baseball team (8-2) remains 2nd in the NWAC East region behind Spokane (8-2).
