Chukar Baseball Sweeps on the Road vs. Walla Walla

[Walla Walla, WA] - In an away regional matchup, the Chukar baseball team got two wins over the opposing Walla Walla Warriors on Wednesday, April 6th. The Chuks conquered the Warriors by scores of 4-3 and 9-8.

These close scores made for interesting play, as the Chuks minimal errors and clutch hits kept them in the lead. As for game one, Cory Apker pitched 5 innings and put 6 batters away with strikeouts. Offensively, Trey Schofield, Austin Ollar, Joey Raker, Ira Lee, Nick Eliason and Ace Felice all had a hit in game one. Ollar led the team in RBIs with two. The Chuks had just one error this game.

Game two was a higher scoring game, as the Chuks had 10 hits, 9 runs, and 3 errors versus the Warriors 7 hits, 8 runs and 5 errors. A much needed 4 run inning in the top of the 8th gave the Chuks the lead. Parker Bleggi had 3 hits and 2 RBIs. Joey Raker had 2 hits and contributed 3 RBIs in this matchup. On the mound, Brett Allen and David Henze paved the way for the Chuks.

The Chukars (4-2) now sit in third in the NWAC East Region. They are trailing Big Bend (5-1) and Spokane (4-2). TVCC will host Walla Walla this Saturday to close out their series. Game times are at 1:00 and 4:00 PM MDT.
