Chuks sweep Columbia Basin 7-6 and 8-7
(Ontario, OR) - The Chukar baseball team, desperate for a win, came away with a sweep over Columbia Basin College 7-6 (11 inn) and 8-7 on Wednesday afternoon at Elks Memorial Field.
Game 1 CHUKS 7 CBC 6 (11 innings)
CC Burrup went 4-6 with 4 RBI's and came in relief to get the win over CBC in game 1. Trent Cooper went 3-5 and Payton Higgins went 2-5 with a big 2 out RBI in the bottom of the ninth to give the CHUKS a chance to extend the game into extra innings.
Game 2 CHUKS 8 CBC 7
CC Burrup continued the hot hitting going 2-4 in the second game and Drayson Hladky went 2-3 with 2 doubles to lead the Chukar offense. Anthony Pannullo banged out a 2 RBI double. Freshman Tracy Wheeler pitched in relief to earn the win and Rhys Pope pitched the ninth inning to earn the save.
