Jena continues her fourth year as an Assistant Softball Coach at TVCC. She started her collegiate softball career in 2003 at Dixie State College (Utah Tech University) in St. George, UT lead by Head Coach Randy Wilstead and Assistant Coach Dave Dwyer. While there, Jena was a SWAC First Team All - Region Player, a 3X Player of The Week, and received the Gold Glove Defensive Player of the Year Award as a middle infielder. In 2005, she was 2nd in the region in stolen bases and total runs scored. That same year, Dixie State College won the SWAC Regional Championship Series and made it to the National Softball Playoffs held in Kissimmee, Florida.
In 2006, Jena represented a select group of collegiate softball players from USA that played in the Australian Softball Series held at the 2000 Olympic Stadium in Sydney, Australia. Her team finished second place in the series.
Jena received her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice from Oregon State University. She enjoys working with young female athletes to help elevate their game and share her passion of softball alongside her dad and head coach, Gordy Ogawa, and along with assistant coach, Rick Moeller. Jena has a 5-year-old son, Kaleb, who can be found at the softball field rooting the Chuks on.
