Chukars fall to the Wolves 79-72
(Ontario, OR) - The TVCC women's basketball were riding a two game winning streak before the Timberwolves from Blue Mountain CC came to town on Wednesday night. The Wolves, 0-8 in league play, stunned the Chukars 79-72 with a big second half.
The Wolves outscored the CHUKS 53-33 in the second half to pick up their first conference win.
Gentry Oldham led the CHUKS with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Chelsee Baker added 24 points and 14 rebounds.
Sophomore Riley Helmick went 1-4 from the 3 point line, but that was enough to set a TVCC single season record. Helmick has 62 3-point FG for this season, surpassing the previous record of 61 set by Kylie Roberts and Joy Webber-Best. Helmick, from Ontario, Oregon, also has set the TVCC career record with 120 3-point FG made in her two years at TVCC.
The Chukars, 13-7 overall and 5-4 in East Region play, will travel to Spokane this weekend.
