Chukars take two from Yakima to start league
(Ontario, OR) - The TVCC Chukar Softball team came out on opening day and swept the Yaks from Yakima Valley College 14-6 and 10-2, both in 5 innings.
Game 1
Freshamn pitcher Katie Davis led the Chukars over Yakima Yaks 14-6, after trailing 5-0 after 3 innings. The Chukars erupted for 12 runs in the bottom of the 4th inning and eventually won 14-6 after 5 innings. Twin sister CJ Davis homered in game one.
Sammie MacFee, Maicie Smith, Shaylee Flint, Davis, Rachel Ringer, and Gracie Waite each had two hits in the game.
Game 2
Freshman pitcher Shaylee Flint throws a no hitter in 5 innings of work as the Chukars defeated the Yaks 10-2 in game two.
Maicie Smith went 4-4 and CJ Davis hit her second HR of the day. Lindsey Hudelson and Gabbie Okamura each had two hits in the game.
The Chukars, 2-6 overall and 2-0 in league will take on Wenatchee Vally on Saturday, starting at 12 pm.
